It's a matter of fact

...

It's a matter of fact
My man no longer wants me
His word were clear
He don't want me here
A lady like that a very hard act to follow
She's brought me down, down…
And now I'm all alone
It's hard to face the truth even when it's staring right at you
How can I leave wasted lonely days?
And watch you slip away…

Now that you no longer want me
What am I supposed to do?
Now that you no longer need me
Oohhh….
Now that you no longer want me
What am I suppose to do?
Now that you no longer need me
How can I begin to live my life without you?

I'll try to forget we said that our love's forever
It felt so strong
So where did it all go wrong?
I need to believe it wasn't me that let you down
Somehow you've changed
You're a stranger to me
Cut to the core
How can you believe that she could ever love you more?
What am I to do?
She's taken over
And I'm out in the cold

Now that you no longer want me
What am I supposed to do?
Now that you no longer need me
woohhh….
Now that you no longer want me
What am I supposed to do?
Now that you no longer need me
How can I begin to live my life without you?

woohhh….. oh…….

And now, I'm all alone
It's hard to face the truth even when it's staring right at you
How can I leave wasted lonely days
And watch you slip away?

Now that you no longer want me
What am I supposed to do?
Now that you no longer need me
Now that you no longer want me
What am I supposed to do?
Now that you no longer need me
Hey, hey…
Now that you no longer want me
What am I supposed to do?
Now that you no longer need me
Hey, hey…
Now that you no longer want me
What am I supposed to do?
Now that you no longer need me

["An amazing dark soul classic from UK outfit 'Innocence' When everyone else was focusing on ripping off the Soul II Soul sound, Innocence were busy producing a 'concept' style album threading Pink Floyd samples, breakbeats & subtle brass sounds together alongside Anna Jolley's haunting but beautiful vocals to make a masterpiece of UK soul music. The album was called 'Belief' & not owning it should be a criminal offence, especially if you are a soul music fan" - http://www.badboysoul.co.uk/]

when I was 18 [going on 14] & left by the side of the road I spent the next 12 years drifting through drug use, the people around me were unknown drug users & "frienemies" [un-friends] & when it was getting near the end of that period there was an aborted night out that ended up in some flat with a couple of turntables & a couple of tabs of acid. I reached for this new released 12" & put this song on. I went out the next day & bought this album & been in love with it ever since. I've still got that cassette tape & still play it
