Joe Peters was locked in a dog cellar for 4 years and was eventually sold to a paedophile ring by his own mother at just 5 years old.
Find out how these courageous men survived through the worst period in their lives to help many other victims today."
whilst I fortunately wasn't sexually abused [although my mother recalls things that I have no memory of, so there's still so much of the 11 years that remains unknown] I found this an uncomfortable show to watch but I can relate to not being able to tell anyone because there is no one you can trust & who would even believe you anyway as what you've experienced is beyond what a normal person can comprehend, the threats of & attempts at murder are enough to keep anyone quiet. my release was alcohol, I started to drink by 9 & from 18 to 30 was as many drugs as I could get
whilst this is a very "male-centric" show the point is made by Peter Saunders that if you think there is a lot of abuse of males then try to imagine what the figure would be if you were to account for every female that has been abused
