Bridget's Song

‎...

I hear the drizzle of the rain
Like a memory it falls
Soft & warm continuing
Tapping on my roof & walls

And from the shelter of my mind
Through the window of my eyes
I gaze beyond the rain drenched streets
To England where my heart lies

My mind's distracted & diffused
My thoughts are many miles away
They lie with you when you're asleep
And kiss you when you start your day

And a song I was writing is left undone
I don't know why I spend my time
Writing songs I can't believe
With words that tear & strain to rhyme

And so you see I have come to doubt
All that I once held as true
I stand alone without beliefs
The only truth I know is you

And as I watch the drops of rain
Weave their weary paths & die
I know that I am like the rain
There but for the grace of you go I

ok so it's "Kathy's Song" by Paul Simon
something's you just wished you'd written
but being the "worthless piece of shit" that I am
unfortunately the talent is lacking
I have so many "songs" undone

You don't lack talent.

weeell...I'm only learning to paint & not there yet, & as I do my own paintings sometimes there's one that I think is ok so I tried selling them, but as art is very subjective I'm happy that people might not want to part with cash, that they worked hard to get, for them, but people didn't want them so as I don't do them for any financial reward, that's not the point, I thought I'll give them away, but still people didn't want them, so I accept that there just not that good [now I only show copy art that I do] as for the words, apparently it destroys things, which again says just not good enough... as I ween myself off the internet I can go back to being a private person, it won't stop me, just stop me looking for approval, the internet is not what I hoped it would be

lets face it if the truth be told if I had any talent I wouldn't be on the net moaning about it to anyone that'll listen I'd be busy doing something less boring instead

Van Gogh only ever sold one painting. Now his stuff is worth millions. You have talent. Do original paintings, not just copies, and one day they will sell. Develop your own style.

My paintings don't sell, but they are works of genius!
