the oh yeahs

...
just waiting for some oils to dry
so to occupy my time

after: roy lichtenstein
non objective 1964
the grip 1962
happy tears 1962
layout: charcoal pencil
acrylic on canvas
12" x 12" x 1.5"

It's some time since we said goodbye
And now we lead our separate lives
But where am I? Where can I go?
Driving alone to a movie show
So I turn to the sounds in my car
There's a band playing on the radio
With a rhythm of rhyming guitars
There's a band playing on the radio
And it's drowning the sounds of my tears

again, just waiting for paint to dry
nonsense rhymes, just a wee bit of fun
[a spare 5mins between coats, written as is]

...
You may be wondering
How it can be
When I look at you
& you look at me
A glaring of cats
Too blind to see
The sun shines through you
The moon shines through me

...
Your days are numbered
Your time has come
Questions to be answered
There is no one
There will be consequences
For what you've done
You lie
You cheat
You steal
You worthless scum
Elected to serve your own interest
Your future's brainwashed & dumb

...
I like lots of sweet things
& know that it is true
That sugar maybe sweet
& chocolate maybe too
But the sweetest of all things
Is just to know you

[I put most rhymes in birthday cards, easier, saves me having to write something properly :]

Two bananas four bananas one banana three
Swinging like a bunch of monkeys hanging from a tree
Hey there everybody won't you come along & see
How much like Banana Splits everyone can be?

Some expression in your eyes
Overtook me by surprise
Where was I how was I to know'
How can we drive to a movie show
When the music is here in my car

There's a band playing on the radio
With a rhythm of rhyming guitars
They're playing Oh Yeah on the radio
